Robert Leroy Meekins “Lee”, age 92, passed away on June 30, 2015. Born on December 22, 1922, he is survived by beloved wife, Betty Lee Meekins (nee Diacont), sons Duane Scott Meekins and wife Donna Gail Meekins, Robert Leslie Meekins and partner Jerry Kirchner. Also survived by grandchildren, Patrick Ryan Meekins, Caitlin Elizabeth Meekins and Brian Keith Meekins and brothers Jack Meekins and Angus Meekins. Robert Leroy Meekins proudly served his country in the Pacific theatre during World War II as a soldier in the Army’s 25th Artillery Division.
Relatives and friends may call at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home at 1212 West Old Liberty Road in Winfield, MD 21784 on Thursday, July 2, 2015 , 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 3, 2015 at noon with interment following at Lake View Cemetery in Eldersburg, MD. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center or the James Buchanan Brady Urologic Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
