Robert “Scott” Moser, age 56, of Finksburg, Maryland, died Thursday, October 21, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family, following a long, courageous battle with brain cancer.

Scott was born July 11, 1965, at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, MD., the son of the late Robert Luther Moser and the late Jean Dolores Moser (nee Nickoles).

He was the beloved husband of Laura Lee Moser (nee Thompson). Scott passed just 2 days after celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, October 19th.

Scott was a 1983 Westminster High School Graduate. He attended Widener University and then graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Baltimore with a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2004. He then received his DBIA designation in 2008 and a Certificate of Achievement from Leadership Carroll in 2015. In 2014, Scott was chosen as the recipient of ARC’s President’s Award for his work and assistance on ARC’s new facility in Westminster.

In 2019, he had to leave his position with Carroll County Government, which he loved, due to limitations from his disease. He began employment with the County as Bureau Chief of Building Construction and was promoted to Deputy Director, Public Works. Prior to that, he worked as a Project Manager at Johns Hopkins Hospital and for his family’s building and remodeling business, Robert Moser & Sons.

He enjoyed playing golf, coaching his son’s soccer team when his son was younger and building a loving home for his family with his own hands, but most of all he cherished the time he spent with Laura and their children.

Scott was an intelligent, kind and caring person; always helping those in need. Even though he endured his disease more than half his life, he loved and lived life to the fullest, thankful and grateful to the end for each new day the Lord Blessed him with. A loyal man of honor and always a source of positivity, he brought joy to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.

His life was not measured by the number of years he lived, but by the number of lives he touched in his 56 years. If there was a Guinness record for touching lives with the Fruits of the Spirit, it would be his.

As hard as he tried to keep fighting, in the end he returned to the dust of which he was created and his spirit returned Home. Ecclesiastes 12:17 says, “And the dust returns to the earth as it once was, and the life breath returns to God who gave it.” He may have left this world, but he will live on in the memories of those he touched.

Surviving in addition to his wife are son Justin Moser and daughter Ashley Moser both of Finksburg, MD; stepmother Frances E. Moser (nee Emmett) of Finksburg; sisters Terry Gachot and Beth Alban and brothers Steve Moser and Brian Moser; and father-in-law Bill Thompson, Sr.; many nieces and nephews; and their pups Buddy and Bo-Bo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by mother-in-law Jackie Thompson.

Family and Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784, (Beside South Carroll High School) on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM.
