Robert L. Runkles, age 81, of Mt. Airy, MD, died Friday, December 11, 2015 at Carroll Hospice-Dove House in Westminster, MD.
He was born October 30, 1934 in Frederick County, Maryland, the son of the late Brice Runkles and the late Zelma Fritz Runkles.
He was the husband of Joan Maring Runkles.
He served in the US Marines in 1953; He was a Maintenance Painter for Montgomery County Board of Education. Enjoyed Collecting John Deere Tractors and using them, enjoyed flowers and gardening, and Deer hunting; loved Western Movies and Western Clothing.
He was the father of Robert R. Runkles, Dale A. Runkles, Steve A. Runkles and Scott L. Runkles; brother of Mary Ellen Burdette and Alice Burdette and Jesse B. Runkles; also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Family and Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM; where Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM with John Ely officiating.
