Robert Kenneth Schiebel, 91, of Mount Airy, MD, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Baltimore, MD in 1933, Bob dedicated his life to faith, family, and service. He built a distinguished career as an accountant, working for the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration, among others.
Bob’s faith was the cornerstone of his life; he was a devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and also attended Calvary Lutheran Church. He actively participated in Bible study and always found ways to support his church community. He was also a member of the Freemasons.
Music was one of Bob's greatest joys. From his early days singing in high school to his years in church and community choirs, his rich voice and deep love for music touched the lives of many.
Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia, of East Orange, NJ, who passed away in 1992. He was a proud and loving father to his three children: Randy, of Lancaster, PA; Joy (Jason Marr), of New York, NY; and Karen (Greg Hinchliffe), of Baltimore, MD. In 1997, Bob married Marjorie Woodward, of Westminster, MD. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by four grandchildren: Cassie, Marie, Sabrina, and Axel, and seven great-grandchildren. His entire family will forever hold his wisdom, kindness, and humor in their hearts.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10 am, and a service celebrating his life at noon, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. in Winfield, MD 21784. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his honor, and in the spirit of the teachings of Jesus.
