He is survived by his spouse of 62 years Beverly Ruth (Gordon) Green of Mt. Airy
Roland was born July 16, 1928 in Washington County MD the son of the late John E. Green and late Mary Evea (Fry) Green.
Roland was a Letter Carrier for 35 years with the US Postal Service at Branch 26 Silver Spring, MD
He was a member for 55 years of Union, Branch # 2611 of the National Assoc. of Letter Carriers of which he served as Treasurer for 35 years. He received the Carroll County Senior Volunteer of the Year award in 2007. He was a member of Poplar Springs UMC. Past Treasurer of Prudence Lodge 190 A.F. and A.M. Mt. Airy for over 30 years, Member of Commandery, Scottish Rite, Shriners, and Keystone Kops. Enjoyed gardening and mowing grass. Veteran of the US Air Force. He was a member of Mt. Airy 55 Plus Club and also Mt. Airy Senior Center
Surviving in addition to his wife are Daughter Karen Green of Mechanicsburg, PA, Son and Daughter-in-law The Honorable Judge Brian Green and Elaine Malcom of Eldersburg, Grandsons John Morris Green of Pittsburgh, PA and Kevin Stewart Green of New York, 3 Step-Grandsons Patrick, Colin and Sean McLeod. Preceded in death by Siblings Elwood Green, Florence Green McBride Poole, Paul D. Green, Earl M. Green, Ralph P. Green, Twin Sister Ruth Catherine Green and Daughter-in-law Kathryn Green.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday May 19, 2014 11 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 Interment in Jennings Chapel Cemetery, Woodbine, MD
The family will received friends at the funeral home on Sunday May 18, 2004 2-4 and 6-8 PM during at which time there will be a Masonic Memorial Service 7PM.
