Ronald E. Getty, Sr., a devoted husband, loving father, fun-loving brother and cherished grandfather, peacefully passed away on February 3, 2024 at the age of 80 in Westminster, Maryland, surrounded by his family. Born on March 29, 1943, in Indiana, PA, Ron spent the majority of his adult life in Maryland.
Ron was the beloved son of Lynn and Mary Jane Getty and a dear brother to Edward and Dennis. He was a loving and dedicated husband to his beloved wife, Vivian, and together, they shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Ron was a proud and caring father to his children Ronda, Ronnie, Chris, and James, providing unwavering support and guidance throughout their lives.
One of Ron’s greatest joys in life was being a grandfather to Madison, Kinley, and Braelyn, who brought immeasurable happiness and pride to his heart. He doted on them and cherished every moment spent together.
Ron was passionate about car racing, and his enthusiasm for the sport was infectious. He not only enjoyed racing and ıwatching races but also shared this passion with his children and his many friends, creating lasting memories at the racetrack for more than 50 years.
Ronald Getty, Sr. will be remembered for his love, warmth, humor, quick wit, and the genuine care he showed to his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, laughter, and cherished moments that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
