Chief Petty Officer Ronald K. Hamilton, 80, died peacefully in his Dunkirk, MD home on March 3, 2017. A veteran of the Vietnam Era, decorated with 5 good conduct awards.
Mr. Hamilton was born on March 12, 1936 in Elk Water, WV to Gail C. and Bertha L. Hamilton. In 1953, he joined the armed forces and was assigned to the United States Navy Training Camp in San Diego, CA. After graduating from special training in 1963, he was assigned as a Section Leader Diver, in Washington, DC.
Chief Hamilton was a brave and loyal sailor, as well as a patient and loving father, grandfather and great- grandfather. He married Marian Gayle Hudgens in DeCatur, GA, 1958.
He is survived by his wife Marian Gayle; his grandchildren Deborah, Pamella, Ronald; and his great-grandchildren Paul and Trentyn. He is preceded in death by his; his sons, David and Stanley.
The funeral will be held at Arlington Cemetery, date to be determined. Funeral arrangements are provided by Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Heart Association. Online condolences at www.burrier-queen.com
