Roy Ashley

Roy Smith Ashley, age 93, of Woodbine, died Tuesday May 5, 2009 at Baltimore Washington Hospital in Glen Burnie, MD. He was born August 28, 1915 in Clifton, N.C. the son of the late Ira Franklin Ashley and the late Minnie Hartsog Ashley. He was the husband of the late Daisy Marie Ashley (nee Roten). He was an Operator/Engineer for Local Union #37. He was the father of Barbara Darlene Franklin of Glen Burnie and the late Gilbert Dean Ashley. He was the brother of Elmer Ashley of Princes Anne, Winfred Ashley of Salisbury, Emily Abbott of Princes Anne, Pauline Beauchamp of Westover and the late Lillard, Ray, Frank, and Joseph Ashley, Mae Cowgill and Margaret Graybeal. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Friday May 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Pastor Timothy P. Leaman of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment Lake View Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA on Thursday from 7-9 PM.
