Russell J. Gosnell, age 94, of Woodbine, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson, MD.
He was born March 3, 1923 in Woodbine, Maryland, the son of the late Emery Driver and the late Goldia M. Gosnel.
He was the husband of Martha Gartrell Gosnell.
He had been employed by Aero Jet General and Air Flow and later was employed by American Chain and Cable in Frederick before retiring.
He is an active member of Morgan Chapel United Methodist Church, a member of American Legion Gold Star Post 191 in Mt Airy, A past master of Prudence Lodge #190 A.F. & A.M.in Mt. Airy, Member of the Royal Arch, and Grand Inspector for Grand Lodge of MD. Past President of Past Masters Association of Carroll County, Member of 1905/06 Reunion Association, Member of 8Th Army Air Force.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Sandra L. and Bill Clark of Parrish, Florida; Bonnie and Jeff Wetzel of Woodbine; and Holli and Nate Knight of Alva, Florida; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; predeceased by one grandson.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM; where Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Arthur Monroe officiating.
Interment Morgan Chapel U.M. Church Cemetery, Woodbine, MD.
