Ruth Locke

Ruth M. Locke of Mt. Airy passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy. Born May 13, 1926 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Thelma Graves. She was the wife of the late Milton C. Locke. Surviving are son Michael W. Greene, siblings Bill Graves (Barbara) and Judy Coleman (Joe); sisters-in-law Pauline Graves and Doris Graves; grandchildren, Ben Greene, Beth Greene and Wendy Owen (Bobby) and great-grandchildren Justin and Joey Owen; and many loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Jack Graves, Robert Graves, Gene Graves, Amy Hendrix (Buckles) and Lois Petr. Ruth worked at the Interstate Commerce Commission as an analyst before retiring. She was a very active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 9619, Morningside, MD and served as the State Secretary of MD. Ruth also enjoyed doing a variety of crafts. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, PA, 1212 W.Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, 21784. Funeral service will also be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment service will be held at a later date at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.www.burrier-queen.com.
