Sally Barnes

Sally Jane (Thomas) Barnes, 67 of Mt. Airy, MD, died Friday August 15, 2008 at University of MD Medical Center. She was the spouse of William Herman Barnes, Jr. She was born August 16, 1940 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late George C. Thomas and the late Justa (Witherspoon) Thomas. Mrs. Barnes worked as a nurse for 20 years at Carroll Hospital Center and later became a School Nurse for Howard County Public Schools before retiring in 2007. She was a 1958 graduate of Mt. Airy High School. She enjoyed the company of her friends and family. Surviving her in addition to her husband are Daughter and Son-in-law Julia and David Call of Prince Frederick, MD, Son and Daughter-in-law Jim and Suellen Barnes of Mt. Airy, MD Brothers: George Thomas of Columbia and Dennis Thomas of Westminster. Grandchildren: Brandon and Zachary Call and Mary-Kaitlyn and Mathew Barnes. Preceded in death by Brother Jim Thomas of Mt. Airy. Services will be held Tuesday August 19, 2008 10 Am at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Clarence Kaylor officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt Airy, MD.
