Samaria Lee Poe Jaharias, age 96, of Sykesville, Maryland., passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024.
She was the wife, of nearly 65 years, of the late Robert George Jaharias.
Samaria was born on August 25, 1928, in Elkins, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William Arthur Poe and the late Laura Belle Poe (nee Mouse).
She was very active in her church for 40 years holding many leadership positions during these years. She, and her husband Robert, loved RVing across America and spending months in Florida during the winter. Most importantly, besides her 3 children, she dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her children Beth Jaharias Zinkand of Morrisville, North Carolina, Roben Jaharias Sanders and husband Donald Sanders of Sykesville, Maryland, and, George Jay Jaharias, and wife Laurie Jaharias of Green Bank, West Virginia; grandchildren, Adam Donald Sanders, Kristen Tyler Gissiner and husband Pete, and Jacob Heath Jaharias; great-grandchildren Jacklyn, Hadley, and Ainslee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Samaria was preceded in death by her ten siblings Harry, Flora, Elmer, Hilda, Helen, Flor Silin, Juanita, Laura, Forrest, and Bruce, and her daughter--in-law Wilma Campbell Jaharias.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 11 AM to 12 Noon at which time the funeral service will begin at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, Maryland 21784 (beside South Carroll High School).
Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM, 515 South Market St., Frederick, Maryland 21701.
