Scott Burgoon

Scott Robert Burgoon, 58, was a resident of Eldersburg, MD for 31 years. He passed away at home on Monday August 7, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Connie Jane Burgoon for 31 years. Scott was born October 13, 1957 in Harrisburg, PA the eldest son of the late John Robert Burgoon and the late Theda Mae Stahl. He is survived by his wife, Connie; sister, Deborah Donahue of Greensburg, PA; brother, Charles Burgoon of Camp Hill, PA; daughters, Scarlett Bowman of Mt. Airy, MD and Brandy Rivkin of Owings Mills, MD. He was a loving grandfather "dada" to Brooklynn, Sierra and Brett Bowman; Alanna, Ashlyn, and Avery Rivkin. He graduated from Davis and Elkins College, Elkins WV with a BS in Biology and Environmental Science and from Kennedy-Western University, Cheyenne, WY with a MS in Safety Engineering. He worked as an Industrial Hygienist; his last position was with NOAA-National Weather Service for 13 years. He was a passionate member of Toastmasters and the Atlantic Cycling Club. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Connie to destinations such as St. Lucia. The family will receive friends for the memorial service at 11am on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Oakland United Methodist Church, 5901 Mineral Hill Rd. Sykesville, MD. A luncheon will be served immediately after the service at the Oakland United Methodist Fellowship Hall, 5971 Mineral Hill Rd. Sykesville, MD.
