Sharon Victoria Cross
On Wednesday November 25, 2020, loving sister, aunt, and faithful friend passed away peacefully at the age of 71.
Sharon was born on August 25, 1949 in Baltimore, MD and grew up on Willoughby Rd in Parkville, MD. She graduated from Parkville H.S. in 1967 and started her career working for Sperl Construction in Parkville as an Office Manager. Sharon worked in the hospitality and facilities management industry for 20+ years, most recently at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. For the last 10+ years, she was a Tour Manager for the Gunther Charters & Tours Company. Sharon really enjoyed traveling with folks to exciting destinations, getting to know them, swapping stories and bonding with new friends.
Sharon was an active member of the Orthodox Church of St. Matthew in Columbia, MD. In 2008, the pastor challenged Sharon to start an annual Festival as a fundraiser. Sharon built the Multi-Cultural Festival from scratch and turned it into an annual event that brought parishioners and the whole community together on the first weekend in October for over 12 years. She connected and became friends with patrons, vendors and cultural entertainers from all over the area who looked forward to this event every year.
In the last few years Sharon lived for her grandnephew, Felix who was like a grandson and lives in Sweden. He brought her innocence and joy.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother Rose and brother Jonathan. She is survived by her sister Robin and husband John, her sister Ronnie and husband Scott, her nieces Nikki and Gabrielle, nephews Nicholas, Devin and Felix and numerous family and friends.
