Shirley Jean (Brown) Fredericksen of Mount Airy, MD, passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2025 at age 83.
Beloved wife of the late Alvin Henry Fredericksen for 56 years.
She was born November 2, 1941, in Washington, DC, and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and late June Brown.
She grew up in Colesville, MD and graduated in 1960 from Sherwood High School, after which she worked as a file clerk at Geico.
After getting married in 1962, she eventually left her job to start a family.
Mrs. Fredericksen was a homemaker, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading.
In 1972 the family moved to Mount Airy, MD, where she volunteered at Lisbon Elementary School and served as Den Mother for Cub Scouts and Webelos.
She was a volunteer coordinator for the Red Cross Blood Drive and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Mrs. Fredericksen was a member of Lisbon United Methodist Church.
Surviving are children Gary A. Fredericksen and Kelly J. Fredericksen Snouffer & husband George Snouffer. Also surviving are brothers Ronald Brown, Dennis Brown and sister Susan Jones.
Dearest grandmother of Christian Snouffer and Kevin Snouffer. Loving great-grandmother of Keagan Whiteman.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
