Stephen Michael Deitz, 33, was born on May 14, 1982 in Baltimore, MD. He passed away on January 21, 2016 after a short illness. Stephen loved life and he loved people; he never met a person he could not talk to. He would enter a room full of strangers and leave with a room full of friends. Steve was the life of the party and his spontaneity threw curve balls in every direction. He always had a positive outlook and his laughter, sense of humor and goofiness never went unnoticed. Steve loved to cook and BBQ and experiment with new dishes. There was a place in his heart for all animals, especially his rescue dog, "Oher". He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Stephen was a loving, caring and humorous son, grandson, nephew, cousin, brother and friend. He is survived by his loving mom, Linda Baskette and stepfather, Mark, his dad Philip Deitz, stepmother Barbara and stepsister Tiffany Dawson. His beloved grandmother, Lucille Widerman, devoted aunts and uncle, Brenda Widerman; Keith and Amy Widerman and cousins Brian and Kara Widerman, stepsister Megan Cromwell and her husband Chris and daughter Evie Cromwell. He was preceded in death by grandparents Charles L. Widerman, Jr and Maynard and Ethel Deitz.
The family will receive friends and family at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home in Sykesville, on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 1pm at Burrier-Queen with interment to follow at Lake View Memorial Park.
