Beloved husband of Susan Meekins (Zimmerman)
Mr. Meekins was born April 23, 1952, in Woodlawn, Maryland.
He retired from the Department of Defense.
Steve was a member of the Granite Presbyterian Church in Granite, Maryland, where he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir, he was a member of the American Legion Post 223, he was a member of the Wright Flyers Club, loved music and was learning the Bass Guitar, Steve served in the Department of the Navy from 2/12/71 to 3/11/75.
Steve is survived by his wife Susan Zimmerman Meekins and son Wayde A. Zimmerman, his parents Angus and Betty Meekins, his brother Denny and wife Joyce Meekins, Sherri Meekins, Sister-in-Law Terri and husband Joe Spann, Brother-in-Law Bill and wife Bonnie Zimmerman, Brother-in-Law Berry Zimmerman and wife Connie Bauer. Aunts & Uncles Breman & Doris, Pat & Lee, Bob & Mary Jo, Larry & Sarah ,Ted. He was truly loved by so many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, on Thursday October 5, 2023 located at 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Winfield, Maryland 21784 from 3pm – 5pm and 7pm – 9pm.
Memorial Services will be conducted at Granite Presbyterian Church at 1pm, Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 10637 Old Court Road, Woodstock, MD 21163, with Pastor Kim Nofel and Brad Dietz of Granite Presbyterian Church officiating. Memorial Services to be Live Streamed Via Zoom link the church’s website www.granitepresbyterian.com
