Thomas Smith

Thomas Robert Smith, age 89, formerly of Woodstock, MD, died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Future Care-Cherrywood in Reisterstown, MD. He was born May 27, 1922 in Cambridge, MD the son of the late Richard C. Smith and the late Mary Kay Black Smith. He was the husband of the late Genevieve Sylvia Smith. He was a friend and companion to Phyllis Brown. He was a self-employed transmission mechanic. He was in the US Army from 1943-1945. He was a member of the American Legion Owings Mills Post# 122. He was a member of Gary Memorial U.M. Church. He enjoyed baseball and football and horses and trips to Florida. He was the father of Robert Timothy Smith and wife Linda of Sykesville, and Kay Bowen and husband Tim of Reisterstown. Brother of Rose Butkus and the late Richard Hooper Smith and late Russell Leonard Smith. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Luther Starnes officiating. Interment Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, MD. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Parkinson’s Association.
