Velma Romaine “Mom-Mom” Divers (nee Duvall), age 91, of Sykesville, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at her home.
She was born May 14, 1924 in Mt. Olive, Maryland the daughter of the late Harry Raymond Duvall and the late Julia Katherine Baker Duvall.
She was a LPN for Springfield Hospital Center. She loved her flowers and gardening, watching Westerns and listening to Country music.
She was the wife of the late James Alfred “Pop-Pop” Divers, married for 62 years.
Mother of Alan R. Divers and his wife Nancy of CA and Velma Tucker of Sykesville. Preceded in death by son-in-law James Tucker.
Sister of Vivian Myers and Phyllis Duvall both of Westminster, and the late William R. Duvall and late Mary V. Frank, late Hazel L. Myers, late Beulah L. Wilhelm, late Violet E. Handley and the late Ralph E. Duvall.
Also survived by grandchildren Jesse and Amanda Divers, Jennifer and Manwell Hall and Natasha Cortez-Caja, and great grandchildren Shiann Hall, Jamison Hall and Samantha Cortez-Caja, Indya Cortez-Caja and Mason W. Divers; god daughter Sandy McElroy and sister in law of Zelma Hubbard of Troutville, VA, Helen Ronk of Fincastle, VA and Ellis Divers of Pansy, Alabama.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM; where Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM with the Revs. William and Richard Ronk Officiating.
Interment will be in Taylorsville U.M. Church Cemetery; following the interment fellowship/luncheon will be at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home multipurpose room.
