Walter Everett “Skip” Thrift III, age 55, of Carroll County, MD, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at home.
He was born April 24, 1960 in Texas, the son of the late Walter Everett Thrift, Jr. and the late Edwina A. Thrift (nee Schwarting).
He was a Corporal E-4 serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Foreman for Design Plus Sprinkler Systems in Westminster.
He was the father of Walter Everett Thrift IV (Ashley), and Kalyn Hilary Henderson (Lawrence), formerly married to Cheryl “Cricket” Frederick, brother of Margaret Blaylock (Kenny), Juanita Smith (Jerry), K.C. Escolopio (Bobby) and the late Edwina Ashberry, grandfather of Matthew, Catherine, Lil’Everett and Dominic, and a Devoted Friend to Many. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784, (Beside South Carroll High School) on Monday, March 7, 2016 and Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 10 to 11 AM at which time the funeral service will start with Rev. Charles Barnhart officiating.
Interment with Military Honors will be at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
