Ward Charles Pleines, age 73, of Mt. Airy, MD., died Friday, December 25, 2015.
He was born May 5, 1942 in Baltimore MD the son of the late Walter W. Pleines and the late Sarah Baker Pleines.
He was in the MD National Guard from 1965-1971; worked for the Federal Government; enjoyed cooking, loved to play Golf with the Monaghan’s Golf Club and loved his family and dogs.
He was the husband of Susan M. Pleines (nee Phelan) for 50 years.
He was the father of- Jeff Pleines and wife Heidi Vause, Kristen and Kurt Kolb, and Jennifer and Joe Ziolkowski.
He was the brother of Mary J. Chadwick and the late Walter W. Pleines, Jr.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD, (Beside South Carroll High School) on Tuesday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM; vigil wake service at 7:30 PM.
Memorial Mass will be held at St. Michaels R.C. Church, 1125 St. Michael Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771 on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Michael J. Ruane officiating.
