Welborn Higgs

Welborn Higgs, age 78, of Mt. Airy, Died Friday February 8, 2008 in Mt. Airy. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Higgs (nee Kegal). He was born February 14, 1929 in Rumsey, Kentucky the son of the late Harlan Morgan Higgs and the late Sarah Marie Higgs (nee Welborn). He was employed by Supreme Equipment-now called Capus Automations Services. He was a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force for 22 years and member of Mt. Airy American Legion Post 191. Survived by wife of 33 years Betsy Higgs, Children- Chuck Higgs of Lodi, CA, Holly Lawhorn and husband Herb of Ashburn, VA, Tammy Loxton and husband John of Clifton, VA, John Keane of Sterling, VA, Tracey Kiser and husband David of Leesburg, VA and Jennifer Keane & Husband Duke Frederick of Lovettsville, VA. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by twin brother Weldon Higgs. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday February 20, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School). Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD. Family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA on Wednesday February 20th from 11:00-12:00 Noon.
