Dr. Willard Russell Parson, age 90, formerly of Catonsville, peacefully passed on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Lorien Healthcare Center in Taneytown, Maryland surrounded by his family. He was born on October 19, 1926 to the late Dr. Willard and late Mrs. (Mildred) Parson (nee Welch) of Selma Avenue in Halethorpe, Maryland. He was married for 65 years to his loving wife, Miriam Roselyn (nee Sommerfeld) Parson.
Willard was the proud father of, Russell Sigsbee (Karen) Parson and Jay Franklin (Joy) Parson. He was the beloved grandfather of Crystal (Jason) Jackson, Brooks Parson, Brady Parson (and his fiance’ Karly Sites) and Brandon (Jory) Mitzel.
Willard was a World World II veteran, a graduate of Loyola College, St. Louis University Dental School and graduate program and Johns Hopkins Oral Surgery program. He practiced in Catonsville as an oral surgeon for 34 years.
He also served on the boards of St. Agnes and Spring Grove Hospitals.
Willard was a member of Palestine Lodge, Scottish Rite, Boumi Shriners and The Royal Order of the Jesters as well as many other boating groups and the Department of Natural Resources Boat Act Advisory Council for 20 years. He enjoyed boating, fishing, crabbing and planning trips for family and friends.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Granite Presbyterian Church for a memorial service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Granite Presbyterian Church-10637 Old Court Road-Woodstock, Maryland 21163
