William Arterburn

William David “Dave” “Poppie” Arterburn, age 57, of Mt. Airy, died Sunday January 27, 2008 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. He was born July 17, 1950 in Laurel , MD the son of the late William Carr Arterburn and the late Mildred Vulnerhausen Arterburn. He was a Builder contractor. He was an avid Western Rocky Mountain hunter. He was a Good Samaritan and family man. He was the husband of Judy L. Arterburn (nee Booth). He was the father of Dawn Arterburn-Cooney and husband Seth of Libertytown and Michael Arterburn and wife Amanda of Thurmont, and Christy Canterbury of Sharpsburg , MD. He was the brother of Joann Norris of Jessup. He was the grandfather of Zachary Taylor Cooney and Brittany Canterbury. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday January 31, 2008 from 10:00-12:00 Noon at which time Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 noon with the Pastor Wayne Hall of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren in Mt. Airy officiating. Inurnment will be in Locust Grove Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Mt. Airy . In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis , TN 38105 .
