Bill postponed his studies at Yale to enlist in the United States Navy and serve his country in WWII. He served as a Signalman on a Landing Ship Tank (LST) in the Pacific Theater. After serving, Bill graduated from Yale University (Class of 1950) with a BS in Economics. He met his wife, Bernice, at her niece’s baptism, beginning a love that lasted a lifetime.
He worked for the Social Security Administration and moved his growing family from Connecticut to Randallstown, Md, when SSA opened their National Headquarters in Woodlawn, in 1961. After an early retirement as a Director of Policy, Bill began working for Union Trust Bank in Baltimore, spearheading the development of their Automated Teller Machine networks.
Over the years, Bill, an avid, talented photographer, shot and catalogued hundreds of photographs for his family to enjoy.
