William “Lou” Louis Spicer, age 74, of Woodbine, Maryland passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Sinai Hospital.
The beloved husband of Phyllis Spicer of 55 years.
Lou was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 24, 1949, the son of the late Randolph and Mary-Virginia Spicer.
He was the owner of Lou Spicer & Sons Excavating for 45 years. Lou was an avid drag racer for over 50 years, owned many Pro-Street Hot Rods, and enjoyed spending time with friends at local and out of state car shows. His proudest car owning moment was winning The Sweetest Rod on The Beach in Ocean City, Maryland. Lou looked forward to going to the Daytona 500 for over 40 years, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his sons, family, and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons Gary Spicer (Heather), Keith Spicer (Chris), and daughter Tara Bartolain (Aaron). Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brother Donald Spicer (Sharon), and many loving friends.
He was predeceased by son Jarrod Spicer.
The family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784, from 6pm – 8pm on July 1, 2024, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Mark Massey officiating.
Interment will be at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Mount View Road, Marriottsville, MD 21104.
