William “Bill” Murray Thompson, 72 of Sykesville, MD
Died Monday, February 1, 2016 at Carroll Hospital Center
He was the spouse of 46 years to Beth (Booth) Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was born November 29, 1943 in Oceanside, CA the son of the late Murray Thompson and late Frances Dee (Rossell) Thompson.
Bill served in the US Navy as a Helicopter Pilot and later on worked for Northrup Grumman. He was an avid train collector and a member of the Toy Train Association. He loved to travel and had visited every US State and Canadian Province. He also enjoyed hosting the Uncle Bill Picnics.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are daughter Nancy and husband Paul Heiser of New Freedom, PA,
Son Michael and wife Robyn Thompson of Ellicott City. Grandfather of Katie, Emily, Nicole and Hailey.
Sisters Sue and Dennis Martins of Sykesville, Linda Thompson of Durham, NC, Ellen Dailey of Severna Park and Brother Robert and wife Marian Thompson of Houston, TX. Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Regina and Norman Booth of Pensacola, FL, Brother-in-law Fr. Edward Booth, Sister-in-laws Catherine(Gil) Chalker, Mary Booth, Barbara(Richard) Harris, Margaret (Gary) Frazier and Frances Flores. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.
A Funeral Liturgy will be said on Friday, February 5, 2016 11 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784. Interment Private.
