Yvonne Baker

Yvonne E. Baker (nee Taylor), 85 of Westminster and formerly of Winfield passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Dove House.
She was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Earl R. “Dick” Baker, Sr., the love of her life.
Yvonne was born August 9, 1938, in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Hobart Lee Taylor and the late Lillian M. Taylor (nee Johnson).
She retired from Random House after 36 years in the Finance Department. She enjoyed going to the beach, entertaining, and cooking for family and friends, making floral arrangements, and spending time with her husband. They were rarely ever apart. Yvonne loved serving her community as a member of the Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, serving as a past president. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan; but she really enjoyed spending time with her 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Rick Baker (Brenda) of Taylorsville, daughter Gayle Baker-Taylor of Westminster, son Craig Baker (Kara) of Pleasant Valley, grandchildren Jessica (David Jones) and Mikael Taylor (Stacey Christie), Scott (Kirby), Zach (Britt), Collin (Camirin Farmer), Ian (Wen-di Adair) and Meghan Baker (Jake Naill), great-grandchildren Ayden and Olivia Taylor, Reese, Quinn, Lark and Luke Baker. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Oliver and Betty Baker of Mt. Airy and sister-in-law Jane Baker of Frederick. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son-in-law Allen Taylor, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Frank and Bess Gladhill and brother-in-law James Baker.
The Family will receive friends Friday, October 13, 2023, from 11 AM to 12 Noon at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School). With Memorial Service to start at 12 Noon.
